Welcome to my personal website. My name is Martin (Marty) Buck, and I am a Spanish Teacher at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and a PhD candidate in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of New Mexico.
My main research interests include Spanish dialect contact in the United States, Spanish in contact with other languages, heritage language education, and identity and language use in Ireland/ by the Irish diaspora.
I am a passionate language educator and have taught primarily Spanish, but also English and Italian classes, at various levels from preschool to post secondary.
