Research

In the broadest sense, my research focuses on how identity shapes language use, language attitudes, and language learning and, in turn, how language use, language attitudes, and language learning shape identity.

In a more narrow sense, I am interested in, and currently working on projects related to, Spanish dialect contact in the United States, heritage language learners of Spanish in the U.S. and heritage language classes, and Irish identity and Hiberno-English in contact with other English dialects.
